post 3 ( Ch.7-9) -Griselda

Hey Julianna,

I agree with you that chapter 7 has to do with the car salesmen cheating the buyers. The car salesmen want money and they are being smart of how to sell their junk cars. Yet, it’s also sad how the buyers don’t have any choice but to buy the car. I think the car salesmen feel bad about cheating the buyers, but they don’t have a choice either.
I agree with you that chapter 8 was a great surprise for Tom’s dad and their meeting was sweet too. It was kind of funny how both of Tom’s parents were happy to see him, but the first question that came to their mind was, “Tommy, you ain’t busted out? You ain’t got to hide?” (223). I think that Tom can do his prole in California, but I’m not sure. However, they are just happy that Tom is with them.
I agree with you that chapter 9 is very depressing for the people when they move to California. It’s sad how they have to sell their personal belongings. I would also feel heartbroken if I had to sell some of my personal belongings But I would understand why we had to sell them.
